Hi Veronica,

I thought you would like to hear how "Zach" is doing. We got Zach on Tues. night (you called him Euro). We named him "Zachariah", or "Zach" for short. The 2 1/2 hour car ride home was no problem. Zach did great - fairly alert at every unfamiliar sound; he finally fell asleep in my arms towards the end. When we got home he wasn't interested in exploring the house but was very content to stay right by my side.

When Zach gets up, it's an event! He is so happy to see you! He licks every part of your face and neck he can and his "happy meter" - or tail, is on full blast! It's amazing how much love is packed into such a small body. He overflows with it.

We live in the foothills in La Crescenta and go hiking a lot. We took Zach to our favorite local spot and just took him around the park area instead of the trails to get him used to the leash. He did very well. I am floored as to how much he is attached to me already! He has complete trust in me.

Zach has already become a very important addition to our family. I can really appreciate how much extra time and effort you guys put into raising healthy puppies that have a great temperament and personality. Zach is such a good doggie!

Thank you for all of your effort and hard work!

Kelly & Dave

Hi Veronica,
Here are some more pictures for your website! We took Zach to Virginia Lakes (where our daughter works as a packer) and had our first 2-day hike with Zach. We hiked 7 miles in, camped overnight, then 7 miles back. It was over 3,000 ft. elevation gain for the 2 days! Zach managed to find some snow - the best stuff ever (according to him)! We were up between 9,000 and 11,000 feet.
Anyway, I thought you would appreciate hearing of Zach's progress and seeing what he looks like as gets older - plus I get to brag!
Kelly

Hi Veronica,
Zach is a kayak doggy! We bought used kayaks and tested them out today. I thought for sure Zach would make us tip over, but he really exceeded my expectations and stayed mostly calm in the hull of the kayak. What a good doggy!

Good Morning Veronica,

Time for an update. Edyta is doing well. We have expanded her name to Adaleen “Addy” Edyta. A take-off from the Australian town Adelaide, named after a German/English Queen.

She has already received her first collar adjustment, so growing well, and fast. Cindy most appreciates your early attention to her, as she still sits before she eats her food. Wonderful!

We are of course the hit of the neighborhood with everyone stopping and talking about Addy’s looks. She is settling in with her 2 to 3 long walks a day. We have about a 2 mile loop along the bluffs of the ocean, and it is a delight to watch her and Kelsa romp and run along. Not too much time before she settles in and walks our pace.

We continue to be very pleased with her response and personality. She is an excellent companion.

Thank you,

Ken

Veronica, This has to be the smartest damn puppy I ever had. Boss goes to work with me, always has to go just as I get busy, follows me like a shadow, and I'm not sure he gets the idea of heel, but if you slap your thigh and say heel he gets up and follows real close. As I said, one smart little pup. My dachshunds haven't gotten used to being herded yet, but they tolerate him real well. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy one of your fabulous puppies, we will keep you posted on his development. May God Bless you and your efforts, Carl - Veterinarian - California

Hi Veronica, How are you, we got home Friday night at about 9:00, she did great, no crying....she just slept the entire way. Also, she's been great about when she has to go, No accidents in the house yet!!!! She and the cats are even getting along well...She follows Chad and I everywhere, when we stop she does, no wandering off....Thank you again and we are so happy with her! E-Mail 7/20/05-Just wanted to say hi and let you know how Natty is doing. She is so wonderful, full of energy and has such a unique personality. She is so smart and almost always obeys a comand. At the same time she can also be so very stubborn.... We can't keep her out of the water. When we are at the pool she'll jump off the diving board and start swimming around and splashing so she can chase it......She loves riding in our boat and can't wait till it stops so she jump into the water..... She also loves to play fetch. Thank you again - We have never been happier she makes us smile all day long. Chad and Kirsten, N.California

Well, it has been a while since I have dropped a update. Bogart is doing just fine. Bogie is now Canine Good Citizenship. Bogart CGC. :o) The lady that gave it to him was very supprised he did such a good job for being 6 months old. She even said that most dogs do not pass it on the first time, they usually take a few times. While we were there we also put him into a pen with some sheep. It was a test to see if he had the herding instinct in him. Boy! Does he have the instinct in him. It was so amazing!!! All I had to do was go into the pen with him (and the sheep lady) and tell him to go get the sheep!!! I walked over to the sheep and got Bogie's attention and tell him to get the. And he did. He herded them around the pen, and then eventually got the sheep to go around me -- like he was supposed to do. He even obeyed the stick the lady used. He was such a good boy that day. Brandie

Hi,
Just wanted you to see, that Holly(wood) was doing well. She has made friends with our neighbors, (they have a Mastiff and a chihuahua), and loves to meet new people! She tries to take off with the runners that go up our street. She is learning things so fast, it is amazing! We are still in shock that she plays so well with our Russian Hairless kitty! They seem to be such good friends. Every once in a while, Holly will get to excited and bite our kitten, (named Natasha, since she is from Russia), but the kitten will get right back into it with her, and start up the game again. Holly is such a wonderful addition to our family. We keep thinking of getting another one from you :)
P.S.
I have also told my mom about you, and since she lives in Wyoming on a ranch, word has spread quickly about how great your ACD's are. So, don't be surprised, if you get a request from a Wyoming buyer soon! Christy

****Update - Video of Kefir at 4 months!****

video.yahoo.com/video/play

Hi Veronica,
I wanted to send you some photos of Kefir's. He is a very good pup, everybody loves him, I mean EVERYBODY.
His vet came over yesterday for examination, vaccinations, also took blood for Heartworm antigen test and he was soooo good. Kefir let her take temperature, give him shots no problem. Jim said we should get a "good puppy discount" (lol). The vet will come over every 3 weeks until Kefir is 4 months old. Thanks again Veronica, for the new addition to our little family. I will send you more photos and keep you updated how Kefir is doing. He really is a cutest puppy I have ever seen. Maki

Hi Veronica,
I just wanted to let you know that Java is doing great. She is such a joy and I don't really know what I would do without her....she is fun and loving and yes, a little bit mischevious but that is one of the things I love the most. She is getting along well with the other dogs, although they had to let her know they do not like being heeled. She has had her shots and heart worm and will go back for more in another couple of weeks. We are totally in love with our little girl. She is also around cats, and she plays with them, so I think they will be great pals. Thank you again. Jeanne

Hi Veronica: Safari is such a fabulous dog - very smart! Learned to sit the very first day she came home! Trip home was great - she slept the whole way. All the kids came for dinner to meet her, so she had a very big day. She sleeps in a crate right by our bed and is so good - sleeps all night long with not a sound from her.

We love her dearly - she is very funny and entertaining - had her first bath here yesterday, plus a walk - she is not wild about her collar, so think I will just put it on her and let her get used to it before we take her for a walk again. Am attaching pictures and will send more as she grows.

Thank you, Veronica, for such a great puppy and friend!

Love, Mary

Hi Veronica: Just a note and another photo of Safari to let you know how great she is. We love her dearly. She is almost ready for agility training, which we'll start in another month or so. In the meantime, she LOVES to fetch the ball, play with her buddies - our son and daughter both have dogs who spend lots of time here.

We also have been taking her on long hikes up in the mountains - 4 miles last weekend and about 2 miles this morning. She's just about ready to go running with my husband and our daughters.

The photo was taken on our hike last Sunday. You can see how she has grown - now about 25 pounds. She has added so much to our lives! It is hard to imagine what we did without her.
Thanks again, Veronica, for breeding such wonderful dogs!

Mary

Hi Veronica, Hope you are having a great summer so far. Spur is doing absolutely wonderful. He has a great personality, is energetic, athletic, smart and loving. He loves running around his huge yard, going for rides in the truck and playing with the black lab next door. He also enjoyed his first camping trip in Northern California. He is now 16 lbs and getting bigger by the minute. The attached picture was taken about 3 weeks ago. Take Care, Jessica, Glenn and Spur

Hi Veronica: Well, this little pup had a fine ride home. She was so busy jumping from Mimi to Michael and then Monique, I don't think she new we were moving. Saturday, I think she knew she wasn't going back home and she seemed a little depressed. But, on Sunday and Monday, things changed dramatically. I have lost 5 pounds and my reflexes are dramatically quicker. This little spring is unwinding. She doesn't slow down until bed time: then, she'll sleep 'til 5am, run out and do her business. Having a great time. Talk to ya soon, Jonathan

Hi Veronica, I just wanted you to know that Trevor was a huge hit down here. Everyone that I have talked to has given me compliments on how he looks and listens. Thank you so much. I just wanted to let you know that a really good friend that I rope with wants to get a new ACD. He has had one before. Since I have had Trevor he has been eyeing him. Other then that I will give you and update... WOW! I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Not nessecarily owning an ACD, but getting a puppy. This has been a huge challenge and he is turning out so good as I compare him to other dogs OVER his age. Up to this point he will do all the basic commands (sit, down, here). What has surprised me the most is he was starting to play fetch, but the only time he would retrieve what ever I threw, was when I told him to go get it. Here are some pictures of him so you can see how much he has grown. Thank you again, Ashley

Veronica, Here’s some photos of Templar( Ty) at 9 months old.  Yes, he’s smart enough to climb up the trampoline ladder himself, and poke his way through the netting to get into the trampoline.  Yea, he’s one funny dog. On the trampoline, my kids invite a lot of neighborhood kids over, and he runs around in circles on the outside of the trampoline barking at them while the kids scream—it’s so funny to watch.  A few weeks ago, I had taken him down to San Diego to a place that herded sheep and he seemed like he was having fun; but the trainer was teaching on him on the basis that I wanted to make him a working dog, or to compete him in dog competitions-which I'm not sure that I have the time to do this and I'm not sure that I'd make a good sheep herder directing Ty. She actually put me in a pen with some sheep and one of her dogs--the sheep were biting my levi's etc, it was really funny-but you should have seen Ty, he was having a blast. Thanks again for giving us such a great dog :) Rob

Roxy has definitely been a joy and has filled our home with love and a lot of activity! Our other dog Jack is in Heaven. The two of them, despite their size difference, are inseparable. Roxy loves our walks in the wetlands. She just can't wait to get out there and chase (herd) the rabbits and squirrels. You can tell she feels at home there. Of course if not chasing wild life, she is chasing the hockey pucks or balls my son hits for her. Her other favorite spot at night time is sleeping on me if not in her own bed.  Thank you for the addition to our family! She is a blessing to our home! Rosemary and Family

Hey Veronica, How are you doing? Zuni is doing great, all the girls at the vet loved her and everyone I meet can't believe how beautiful her coat/markings are. She has learned to sit, leave it, no and to get in her kennel. She hasn't chewed anything in the house but she likes to eat anything on the ground. I have been feeding her by hand sometimes and she will sit until I say, "okay". I do this with small handfuls of food. I'll send you more pic's when she get's older and thanks again for a super pup! Happy Thanksgiving! Cheers, Sammy

Hi Veronica,
Here is a picture of Rincon ("Dingo") where he fell asleep beside Mackenzie last night (Old Mackenzie had a dog and Dingo was his name-o). They get worn out running around the backyard all day and chewing on each other's toys. I think he has had a pretty good first weekend. He never showed any signs of nervousness about his new home and he likes to cuddle with everyone. We took him bike riding on Sunday and he rode around behind me in the baby trailer - when he's a little bigger he'll be able to run along beside us. Everyone is really happy with him!
Thanks so much,
Andrew, Miranda, Malachi & Mackenzie.

I adopted Angel last year in October. I wanted to share with you a meeting I had with another JonVers Cattle Dog. I don't know if you remember, but I live in Mammoth Lakes. A woman named Hillary adopted a dog named Bronson - though she lived in LA, she recently moved to Mammoth. I was standing on my porch last week and saw a gorgeous blue walking down the street. I of course went down to introduce myself and meet the puppy. We got to talking and realized that Angel and Bronson were brother and sister! I thought you might enjoy hearing about that meeting. Angel "Angie" is doing well. We went up into the Lakes Basin today for a two hour romp - she had to play Queen of the mountain on all the snow and is now exhausted sleeping with her legs up in the air... She is at work with me every day and my students love her. She sleeps in a kennel in my classroom, and runs with them at lunch. I think she's enjoying her life. Thank you again for her. She means the world to me. I went out to the lake the other day and took what I think are pretty good pictures of my Angie. I thought you might like to see what she looks like as she approaches her second birthday... Alicia

Veronica,
Angie turned three last week and I have been meaning to send some agility photos your way. We have been competing in NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council) events all summer and she is tearing up the novice competition. She loves doing it - play time with mom. The trainer I have been working with (Lin Battaglia) is very impressed with not only her conformation, but her intelligence and pleasant disposition. Everyone I meet is very surprised at such a well-behaved, friendly ACD. Alicia

We are the happy owners of a 2 year-old male, Harley (you called him Harlan) that we brought home in August, 2005. He is fine, happy, and everything we wanted in our second Cattle Dog. Thank you for that. We got a wonderful dog from you, and wish you only the best in your endeavor.  Attached please find a photo of Harley as he looked last summer…Yours truly, Breen and Jill

In July of 2005, we purchased one of your ACD pups from Sport and Jali, by the name of Hatch. I've been wanting to send you some pics of Hatch for awhile. First of all, we would really to like to say thanks for letting us give Hatch a good home. He is absolutely the best dog ever. He makes us laugh so much and we have a ton of fun playing with him. He gets along great with our cat. And of course, as you know, these dogs are the best ever. He is totally spoiled, but totally worth it! He's really good for Casey; our 11 year old female ACD. We both enjoy playing ball with him and he likes to play in the water when I'm watering. I'm very fortunate that I get take the dogs to work with me every day. My fathers trucking business is based out of his horse ranch. There they get to hang out with my dads Welsh Corgi and I get to take breaks to play with them or have them hang out in the office with me. We got Hatch as a non-working dog, but a couple months ago he got a chance to chase my dads goats. He herded those goats just like he had been trained to do so all his life! He circled them, got them in a pack, and drove them to the fence line and wouldn't let them move. I've never even taken him to a herding lesson!
He has really brought us both a lot of happiness, and we both thank you sincerely for letting him be a part of our lives! Jeff & Bill

I just wanted to drop a note and tell you how my pup is doing. The day I picked him up in Anza he sat in the front seat of my truck and rode "shotgun" the entire 3 hour trip without a whimper....thus his name was created. Shotgun is growing up quickly and is one of the most athletic and agile ACDs I have ever had (And I have had many over the last 35 years!). He is doing great and enjoys playing frisbee and he just started catching a ball. He also enjoys going on trail rides and running through the long grass in the mountains. I love my dog and he is quite a happy little guy (My cats and dogs play with him all the time) Cheryl

Hi Veronica,  I hope you are having a happy holiday season. I just thought I would give you an update on Nezzie. Having Nezzie in our life is such a delight! Nezzie is doing quite well. And the bundle of energy is loving life! She loves to get into the water. She also likes to climb rocks and jump over poles. I think agility is in her near future after we get some basic obedience. We know sit, stay, lie down, roll over, dance (she will stand up and do 2 revolutions) and come. But we are perfecting the let go, leave it, stay and the come commands. Those we have a limited attention span for. She has been really good around the horses. She seems to recognize Tank and stops for every white horse she sees on trail. (Not any color mind you.) She has licked him on the nose too. And she likes to take the end of the lead line and take her horse to his stall. She knows exactly where he lives and “leads” him from the turnout across the ranch and back to his stall.  We are exhausted but having a blast. She is so amazing and so intelligent. I can not remember life without her, but I think it contained more sleep!  She is a good puppy!  Take care and happy holidays, Judy

Hi Veronica, I know you talked with Kathy recently regarding Indy. Let me assure you he is the finest dog with which I have ever had the pleasure to share time. We are very active with long walks together and he is a fine retriever at anytime anywhere with anything. We are learning Flyball and he has proven to be a quick learner and crowd pleaser. We have several ACDs in the group but Indy is by far the most representative of the breed. Your care in breeding really stands out when you see him in a group. He has traveled the western US in the last year and a half and is remarkably tolerant. Hasn't developed a yen for water but is never shy to explore. All in all I cannot communicate to you the absolute joy Indy has brought to our lives. I look forward to many more years. I constantly get inquiries and compliments from people I meet on my walks who want to find a companion like Indy. I hope we can add a sibling some day ourselves so I hope you maintain your committment to such a fine lineage of ACDs. Alan

E-mail rec'd 4-5-06: Been some time since we have given you an update on Indy, a pup we received from you almost 3 years ago. We were posting some info on Inside Flyball about how great he is doing and we thought you may like to know how he is . He is a wonderful family dog and has two pack mates a 14 month old ACD we rescued and a year old mini-Aussie. He is absolutely ball crazy, always has been. We started him in Flyball a little over a year ago and within 3 months he was competing at a high level. We are now with Lickety Splits http://licketysplitsflyball.org/ and in the short time we have been refining his training; he is approaching the fastest time for an ACD in Flyball. We have yet to prove that in a tournament but he definitely has the potential. I see you have pups from Wynnie and Sport again and at tournaments we see many ACDs from all around the region and Indy really stands out as a handsome dog. They make pretty pups and very athletic . He is very well behaved and loves the walks we take almost daily. I think my arm would fall off before he ever got tired of chasing a Frisbee, or a ball or a tire or anything for that matter. Good luck with your new pups. Know that you do have a good line of ACDs and we appreciate it. I read somewhere that the most long lived dog was an ACD that was 29 years old. We should be so fortunate. Alan

E-Mail rec'd 2/16/07:  Veronica, Every time I get a compliment regarding Indy, I am thankful for having found you and am grateful you have such a fine line of ACDs.
Don't get me wrong Indy has his quirks but he still brings tremendous joy to the entire family and is the unquestioned Alpha in our pack ( well after all the humans including our newest granddaughter) but other ACDs know who is boss.

So here is the news Fastest ACD in Flyball. His parents should be proud

Alan

It's been almost a year since we picked up Cody from you. He's one of a kind!! He's not a pet he's one of the family!! Attached is a picture of Cody at work in San Francisco guarding the work truck. Cody has a routine that must be kept everyday, Ride to work and get his tummy rubbed til he falls asleep, arrive at work and play ball for 20 minutes then ride around the city then go to the dog park after work at the beach. He's the best addition to our family although one of our cats got jealous and moved to a house two doors down, he visits but Cody chases him away. Keep us in mind in the future to add another one to our home. He's getting neutered on March 6th. That was a hard decision!! My daughter gave him a birthday party with the dogs down the street and made them a dog cake and spent her allowance on goodie bags. Thanks for breeding such great dogs!!!   Jon, Lisa, Dylan & Shelby
